The Everyday Lens™

A structured wellbeing program that uses reflective photography and a CBT-informed framework to support awareness and everyday change.

The Everyday Lens™ offers a calm, practical way to work with your everyday experiences-  thoughts, emotions, and reactions - through simple reflection and observation.

Photography is used as a starting point for noticing.
A CBT-informed structure helps make sense of what you notice.

What is The Everyday Lens™?

The Everyday Lens™ is a gentle, structured wellbeing practice where everyday photography helps you notice what often happens automatically.

Images are used as a starting point for reflection, while a CBT-informed framework helps to:

  • organise thoughts

  • better understand emotions

  • become more aware of everyday reactions and choices

This is not about taking “good” photos.
It is about paying attention and making sense of your everyday experience.

Who is The Everyday Lens™ for?

The Everyday Lens™ is for you if you would like to:

  • better understand your thoughts, emotions, and everyday reactions

  • slow down and look at your experiences from a different perspective

  • build more calm and awareness in daily life

  • explore how small, simple practices can support your wellbeing

No photography skills or psychological background are required.
This is a safe, steady space where you can work in your own time, without pressure or judgement.

If you feel this might be for you, I invite you to join the program.

Who The Everyday Lens™ is not for?

The Everyday Lens™ may not be the right fit if:

  • you are currently experiencing severe psychological distress and need immediate or clinical support

  • you are looking for psychotherapy, diagnosis, or treatment

  • you expect fast results or quick solutions to complex difficulties

This program is CBT-informed, but it is not psychotherapy and does not replace professional mental health care.

If you are unsure whether this is the right moment for you, you are encouraged to seek appropriate support or speak with a qualified healthcare professional.

If you are unsure, you may wish to start with the free Week 1 Guide.

What The Everyday Lens™ includes?

The Everyday Lens™ is designed as a 6-week self-paced program that you move through in your own time.

When you join, you receive:

  • access to all program materials online

  • a clear weekly structure with gentle guidance

  • reflective photography prompts and practical exercises

  • written reflections and questions to support understanding

  • psychoeducational content informed by CBT principles

You can return to the materials whenever you need and revisit specific exercises as your experience develops.

Time commitment

The recommended time commitment is at least 20 minutes, practised regularly.

Research shows that CBT-informed approaches are most effective when engagement is consistent, rather than occasional or intensive.

The Everyday Lens™ is designed to support steady, repeatable practice that fits into everyday life.

You are encouraged to work at a rhythm that feels sustainable for you.

Working with images

Photography is a central part of The Everyday Lens™.

Participants are invited to work with photographs they take themselves or select images provided as part of the program.

Both approaches support reflection, emotional awareness, and meaning-making.

At times, working with a provided image can make the process more accessible or help create a sense of emotional distance - especially when exploring more difficult or abstract experiences.

What matters is not who took the photograph, but how the image supports reflection and understanding.

What this program can support

The Everyday Lens™ supports mild to moderate wellbeing challenges.

It may help you to:

  • develop greater self-awareness

  • understand emotional patterns more clearly

  • build steadier emotional regulation

  • recognise unhelpful thought habits

  • respond to everyday situations with more flexibility and intention

The focus is on gentle, sustainable change, grounded in regular practice rather than quick results.

Important note

The Everyday Lens™:

  • is not psychotherapy

  • does not involve diagnosis or treatment

  • does not replace professional mental health care

It is intended as a wellbeing practice that can complement other forms of support, where appropriate.

How The Everyday Lens™ works

The Everyday Lens™ offers a clear and gentle structure that supports awareness, reflection, and everyday change.

You are invited to work with ordinary, everyday experiences - moments, situations, thoughts, and emotions -using photography as a way to pause and notice.

Through guided reflection, you explore:

  • what you notice in your daily life

  • how thoughts, emotions, and reactions connect

  • what feels supportive and what may be getting in the way

A CBT-informed framework helps you:

  • make sense of these observations

  • recognise patterns with more clarity

  • experiment with small, realistic changes that fit your life

Some weeks focus more on noticing and understanding.

Others invite gentle shifts in perspective or small, values-based actions.

There is no pressure to “fix” anything.

The emphasis is on learning from experience, at a pace that feels manageable.

Each stage builds gently on the previous one, helping reflection turn into understanding - and understanding into meaningful change.

You are guided throughout the process, but you remain in control of how deeply you engage.

How I work

The Everyday Lens™ was created out of a need for a safe and accessible way to work with wellbeing, without entering a therapeutic process.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I facilitated projects based on mindful photography, observing how simple, everyday images helped people to:

  • regulate emotions

  • make sense of difficult experiences

  • regain a sense of agency and control

My research focuses on the impact of a daily photography practice on emotional wellbeing and is currently being prepared for publication.

How I work

I work with care, respect, and clear boundaries.

The Everyday Lens™ is a wellbeing program, not therapy.

Photography is the medium. CBT is the map.

If this way of working feels aligned, you may be ready to explore how to begin.
