Hello,

My name is Dagmara, and this is my story.

I've always been fascinated by how we perceive the world—both through our eyes and our minds. It's this curiosity that has led me to bridge my two greatest passions: psychology and photography. In my work, I blend them to create a unique therapeutic environment, helping people harness the power of images to enhance their mental well-being and embark on a journey of self-discovery.

My Journey

My professional journey started in the UK, where I obtained a master’s degree in psychology from the University of Leicester and a postgraduate qualification in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) from the University of Exeter. I then had the privilege of working with the NHS, providing practical support for patients dealing with anxiety, stress, and depression. I am proud to be a member of the British Psychological Society.

Also, I have earned a photography degree from Thames Valley University, and my work has been featured in publications and exhibitions in both the UK and Poland.

Furthermore, I've had the honour of learning from leaders in the field, including Francesca Belgiojoso. I was trained in PhotoTherapy, a powerful approach pioneered by Judy Weiser, which uses images as a tool for healing.

In my own research, I've explored how a simple practice like taking a photo every day can have a profound impact on our emotional well-being—a study that is now being prepared for publication.

A Deeper Mission

When the pandemic hit, I felt a strong need to use my skills to help people cope. This led me to create an online project promoting Mindful Photography. It quickly became a supportive community where people could use creative tasks to express difficult emotions and find a new perspective on their circumstances. This experience inspired my Photographic Immersion project, which I've had the chance to lead with various groups, including women living in a refugee centre in France. It was a humbling reminder that photography isn't just about art; it's a tool for resilience, connection, and empowerment.

On a personal note, I find my own balance by spending time in the mountains. I truly believe that true wellbeing comes from nurturing the harmony between your mind, body, and spirit. It's this philosophy that guides my work and my life.
