The Science of Seeing

My path started in the stillness of a dimly lit studio, where cameras served as windows into the psyche. For two decades, I have fused the analytical depth of psychology with the transformative energy of visual artistry.

My work within NHS Talking Therapies as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner showed me how powerful evidence-based psychological approaches can be. However, I also noticed how challenging it can be to bridge the gap between clinical tools and everyday lifestyle development. This inspired me to explore how cognitive principles could be brought to life through something tangible, creative and deeply accessible. This journey eventually led me to develop a unique, photography-based approach to growth and emotional wellbeing.

The Everyday Lens™ emerged from this intersection as an evidence-based framework that combines photography, CBT principles, mindfulness and positive psychology, promoting lasting behaviour change, personal growth and emotional wellbeing

With a background in psychology and research, I became fascinated by the power of photography, not simply as a way of seeing and looking at the world, but as a way of engaging with it. My research at the University of Leicester explored how paying attention to everyday moments through photography can influence our emotions, perspective, growth and sense of wellbeing.
